Beeswax Candle Care
1. Bloom: As our candles are made from 100% pure beeswax, you may notice a layer of white film on the candles over time. This 'bloom' is a natural occurrence of pure beeswax. It does not affect the burn quality of the candles and can be easily removed by gently rubbing the surface of the candle with a soft lint free cloth.
2. Cotton Wick: Always trim the wick to 4-6mm before each burn. If the flame becomes too big during the burn, put it out and let the wick cool down. Then trim the wick a little further before relighting it. Take extra care when the candle is nearing the end of its burn, as the flame may become large and inconsistent with a long wick and low wax pool.
3. Wood wick: Keep the wood wick trimmed to 4mm. If the flame becomes too big during the burn, put it out and let the wick cool down. Then trim the wick a little further before relighting it.
4. Pillar candles: To prevent candle tunneling, let the first burn be long enough for the melt pool to reach the sides (approximately 2-4 hours depending on the width of the pillar). This would help create a steady burn every time. As the candle burns down, you may wish to push in the sides. Once the wax at the top softens, gently push the top sides a little toward the center to create a rounded edge. The heat from the flame will gradually melt the inner edges.
5. Floating candles: When placing the floating candle on the surface of the water, take care to keep the top wick dry, or it may be difficult to light the candle.
6. Always remember to use a candle plate to catch any candle drips.
